Candy has also always been very popular as a gift choice. The first thing that comes to mind when you think of gourmet candy is truffles. These come with a range of fillings such as caramel, nuts, coconut, marshmallow and sometimes even liqeuers. There are different types of candies that are made in various parts of the world such as fudge or taffy. There are also many different kinds of hard candy that can be found around the world which can be considered gourmet.
In most cases gourmet cookies will be made from ingredients which are of a higher quality than that found in most confectionary. Even chocolate chip cookies can become gourmet biscuits when they are made with large chocolate chunks, marshmallows, peanuts or other types of ingredients. If you have beenshopping whilst abroad in Europe then you will have no doubt noticed that many shops will stock tins of specially made cookies and biscuits. Although it can be extremely tempting to treat yourself to these gourmet foods every now and then it is of course important to eat in moderation. This is especially true when it comes to eating cookies and candy as they may be high in sugar which isn’t exactly good for your teeth. Similarly cheese is extremely high in fat so make sure that you only indulge yourself once in a while. All of these foods should be consumed as part of a balanced diet which is complemented by regular exercise.
